Composition

Each 100 mL contains:

Trimethoprim……4g

Sulfamethoxazole……20g

Diclofenac sodium……0.5g

Vehicle……qsp100 mL

NOTE: Injectable antidiarrheal composed of solvent, antioxidant cosolvent, antimicrobial

 

Indications

For the combined treatment of severe bacterial infections with inflammatory pain and high fever in cattle and pigs. Mainly used to treat respiratory infections caused by Gram-positive/negative bacteria (such as pasteurellosis), mastitis, arthritis and other diseases that require simultaneous control of infection and inflammation. And postoperative infection prevention and traumatic inflammation management (necessity of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs needs to be evaluated).

 

Administration and Dosage

Route of administration: deep intramuscular injection (gluteal muscle recommended) or slow intravenous injection (need to be diluted to 5% concentration).

Cattle, pigs: 0.1 mL/kg body weight (i.e. 10 mL per 100 kg), once a day.

Dilution method (intravenous injection):

Dilute with 0.9% saline at a ratio of 1:4, and the infusion rate is ≤1mL/kg/h.

 

Precautions

Contraindicated in late pregnancy animals (risk of premature closure of fetal ductus arteriosus caused by diclofenac).

Contraindicated in animals with a history of sulfonamide allergy, severe liver and kidney damage or peptic ulcer.

It is forbidden to use it in combination with other NSAIDs (such as flunixin meglumine) or sulfonamides.

 

Side Effects

Common

Pain/swelling at the injection site (intramuscular injection), transient loss of appetite.

Sulfonamide-related: crystalluria, photosensitivity dermatitis.

Severe reactions

Diclofenac causes gastric ulcers (hematemesis, black stools), the drug should be discontinued and a proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole) should be given.

Sulfonamide hypersensitivity reaction (lupus erythematosus-like syndrome), the drug should be discontinued immediately, and dexamethasone should be injected intravenously.

 

Withdrawal Times

Cattle (for meat): 28-35 days.

Pork (for meat): 21-30 days.
