Antipyrine……40g

Hydrochloride procaine……0.5g

Vitamin B12……8000 mg

Vehicle……qsp100 mL

Indications

For combined treatment of blood protozoan diseases and complications in cattle and horses. Mainly for acute hemolytic anemia caused by Babesia, Theileria, etc. And synchronous control of high fever, pain and vitamin B12 deficiency weakness caused by protozoan infection.

Administration and Dosage

Route of administration: deep intramuscular injection (cattle: buttocks or neck muscles; horses: gluteal muscles).

Cattle and horses: 0.1 mL/kg body weight (i.e. 10 mL per 100 kg), single dose.

Severe repetition: one more injection can be given after 48 hours (total course of treatment ≤2 times).

Note: The drug solution needs to be preheated to 25-30°C before injection (to reduce local irritation). The maximum single-point injection volume is ≤20mL (cattle) or ≤15mL (horse).

Precautions

Prohibited in pregnant animals (Diminazene may cause teratogenicity).

Contraindicated in cases of severe anemia (PCV<15%) or hepatic and renal failure.

Contraindicated in combination with other antiprotozoal drugs (such as imidocarb) or sulfonamides.

The syringe must be strictly protected from light (sodium metabisulfite is photosensitizing).

The animal needs to rest for 24 hours after injection (Procaine may cause transient ataxia).

The operator needs to wear gloves (avoid skin contact sensitization).

Side Effects

Common

Swelling/nodule at the injection site (muscle irritation, relieved by hot compress).

Transient salivation, tremor (Procaine overdose reaction, subsides within 30 minutes).

Severe reactions

Diminazene neurotoxicity (convulsions, opisthotonos).

Anaphylactic shock.

Horses (for meat): 60 days (banned for horses in international competitions, lifetime ban).

Dairy animals: banned throughout the entire process (risk of drug milk secretion).
